WARNING - fake Support emails
We have become aware that a number of fake emails are in circulation, purporting to come from NewNet Support Centre and inviting recipients to confirm account details etc. Some emails ask users to open ZIP file attachments - which when opened unload virus and other undesirable materials.
NewNet never send out emails asking for customers to confirm personal and account information. NewNet rarely send file attachments to customers and never send attachments in ZIP format.
If you are in any doubt about a communication from NewNet please contact the Helpdesk team to verify the contents.

From time to time customers report problems with various aspects of their use of an internet service. Many of these problems are similar to experiences of others and these pages provide some information and advice on common problems.
Beware of invitations to renew or other documents arriving in the post from unknown senders. NewNet always send information to subscribers when domains are due for renewal; if you receive anything at any other time please contact NewNet as soon as possible.
Recent 'invitation' scams have involved domain registration, Data Protection registration and others. Just because a document looks genuine does not mean that it is! If in doubt, check!
Be very wary of replying to any email or other invitation requesting you to enter your financial details 'for confirmation' of service. Bona fide banks and other such institutions NEVER request customers to enter their details in this way.
Never open attachments with mail or click on links within mail unless you are sure of the identity of the sender. Use NewNet's anti-spam filtering to delete or tag spam items - filter tagged items to a separate folder for occasional scan and then deletion. Never reply to junk mail - a reply only serves to confirm that your mail account is active. Never purchase from junk mail.
Take steps to ensure that your systems are up to date with the latest security 'patches' and updates and that you regularly run an anti-virus checker and that it's signature files are up to date. Run a reputable anti-spyware scanner at regular intervals and remove bogus diallers, data miners and other items from your system. Be aware - if your system slows down then it may be running some unwanted software!
