Setting up a mail account in Outlook Express
Open Outlook Express click on Tools at the top menu and select Accounts from the drop-down menu that appears.
Click onto the Mail tab within the Internet Accounts box.
Click the Add button.
Select Mail from the pop-up menu
This will launch the Internet Connection Wizard.
On this screen type in your 'Display Name'. The Display Name is your real name, and will appear as the 'from' name on emails that you send.
Click Next at the bottom of the screen.
Type your NewNet E-mail address into the field, this must all be in lower case and should not include any spaces. This is the email address that you created within the PowerHost control panel. The username is the one you specified at the time of first registering for NewNet Broadband.
Click Next.
Leave My incoming mail server is a... as POP3.
You need to fill in both the POP3 and SMTP fields. These are the 'virtual' name servers from which you collect and send your mail messages from Outlook Express. The username is the one you chose at the time of first registration.
NOTE: The server names are case sensitive so do not include any capital letters, or spaces.
Click Next.
Your username (usually the first part of your email address before the @ sign) must be entered in the Account name field and enter your username.mail1.co.uk after the @ sign.
Type your Password in the field provided, remember that usernames and passwords are case sensitive.
Make sure the tick box next to Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA) is empty.
Click Next.
Click Finish to complete the setup of the account and to start using your email address. It is advisable that you send yourself a test email message to ensure your account is working correctly.
