thing you have to do, is to install Dial-up Networking. To do this, double-click
on the 'My Computer' icon at the top of your desktop.

Double-click

should be presented with ...

Click 'Install'

with a warning that the phone book is empty

Configuring
Dial-up Networking
Click OK
to add an entry

You are
asked to name your connection. You can call it anything you like but we
suggest calling it NewNet. After you have entered the name of the
dial-up connection, you should click the 'Next' button.

In the 'Server'
window you should click the two top tick boxes. This is very important
as it determines how your details will be sent on to NewNet when you try
to connect. Click the 'Next' button which should take you to the 'Phone
Number' window.

You should
enter the phone number you need to dial to connect to NewNet. For most
users this is 0845 684 0044 and this is what you should use unless
instructed otherwise. Click 'Next' - this will take you to the 'Serial
Line Protocol' window.

In this screen
you are able to specify the type of protocol to use with the connection,
you should check the Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP) radio button. Click
'Next', this will show the 'Login Script' window.

Click on
the radio button for 'None' and click 'Next'

If you know
your static IP address enter it here, otherwise leave it as shown with
four zero's. Click
'Next' to bring up the 'Name Server Addresses' window.

Enter the
DNS server address of 212.87.64.10 in the DNS Server box. Click
'Next'

Click 'Next'
to finish the setup. You should be presented with a 'Dial-Up Networking'
window.

On this
screen you should click the 'More' button, select the 'Edit entry and
modem properties'.

After you
have selected the 'Edit entry and modem properties' option, you should
be presented with a 'Edit Phonebook Entry' window. Click the tab that
says 'Server'.

Make sure
that you have exactly what is shown in the screenshot above, then click
TCP/IP Settings.

When you
open this screen, there may only be a single DNS server address shown.
You should do the following:
Enable 'Server
assigned IP address'.
Enable
'Specify name server addresses'.
Enter
212.87.64.10 as the 'Primary DNS' and 212.87.64.11 as the
'Secondary DNS'.
Click the
'OK' button until you are back to the screen where it says Dial at the
bottom of the window. Click 'Dial' - this should bring up the following
screen.

Enter your
'User name' and login 'Password'. This information will be shown on the
dial-up instructions sent to you when you joined us and is case sensitive.
It is VERY important to note that there should be nothing in the
'Domain' field. If there is something entered in this field, the connection
attempt may fail. Click 'OK' and you should start to connect to NewNet.
