How to configure your Remote Access Settings

Click on Control Panels.
Click Remote Access.

Remote Access

Make sure Registered User is selected.
Name should contain your username, as supplied to you with your dial-up instructions.
Password should contain your password.
Number should be 0845 684 0044.
Ensure that Save Password is selected.
Click on Options.

Click on Connection.

Use verbose logging and Prompt every 5 minutes to maintain connection should NOT be selected.
Flash icon in menu bar while connected and Disconnect if idle for 10 minutes should be selected.
Click on Protocol.

From the drop down menu Use protocol make sure that PPP is selected.
Note: On operating systems older than OS 8.5 Use protocol is not present. Connect automatically when starting TCP/IP applications, Allow error correction and compression in modem and Use TCP header compression should all be selected.
Connect to a command-line host: should not be selected.
Click Ok.
Close the Remote Access window.

Remote access save config

Click Save, then restart your computer so that the changes take effect.
