Internet Connection - Windows 2000

On your desktop, double-click the My Computer icon

Double-click on the Control Panel, then the Network and Dial-Up Connections icon.

Double-click on Make New Connection

Click Next >

Select Dial-up to the Internet

Click Next >

Select I want to set up my Internet connection manually, or I want to connect through a local area network (LAN)

Click Next >

Select I connect through a phone line and a modem

Click Next >

Enter the Area code and Telephone number in the relevant fields:

0845 684 0044

Click Advanced

Select PPP (Point to Point Protocol)

Select Disable LCP Extensions

Under Logon procedure select None

Next, click on the Addresses tab at the top.

Select Internet service provider automatically provides one in the IP address section

In the DNS server address section, select Always use the following: Enter the primary and secondary Newnet DNS Server addresses:

Primary DNS: 212.87.64.10

Secondary DNS: 212.87.64.11

Click OK

Click Next >

Enter your dialup User name: and Password: as supplied to you by NewNet.

Click on Next >

Type Newnet into the Connection name: entry box

Click Next >

Right-click on the newly created NewNet icon, select Properties from the drop-down menu

Ensure the connection is dialling into 0845 684 0044

Click on the Networking tab, Ensure that only TCP/IP is selected

Click Settings

Select Use the following DNS server addresses:

Preferred DNS Server: 212.87.64.10

Alternate DNS Server: 212.87.64.11

Click OK

You are now ready to use your NewNet dial-up connection
