Windows XP dial-up settings

Double click on My Computer

Click Change a setting

Click Network and Internet Connections

Select Set up or change your Internet connection

Select Internet Options from or pick a Control Panel icon

Click Add

Select Dial-up to private network, Connect using my phone line (modem or ISDN)

Enter the NewNet dial-up number - 0845 684 0044

Enter NewNet as the name for the dial-up connection

Click Finish

Enter dial-up username and password as supplied by NewNet

Select the Networking tab

Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)

Select Client for Microsoft Networks

Click Settings

Select Enable LCP extensions

Select Enable software compression

Click OK

Select Use the following DNS server addresses:

In the Preferred DNS server field use the following IP - 212.87.64.10

In the Alternate DNS server field use the following IP - 212.87.64.11

Click OK

The Dial-up connection is now complete!

It is advisable to shut the computer down and leave switched off for at least 10 seconds before switching back on and dialling uup for the first time. This ensures that all previous settings have cleared from the memory.
